2009-2010 School Year Recap
This school year at MHS has been the best. Even though it was only my freshman year I have had many memories and I'm sure there are more to come. I'm going to take you back to the beginning of the school year. The first week to be exact. I remember the very first day and how scared and nervous I was. I was afraid I wouldn't know anyone and that I would get lost in the huge school. The first week was all about tests and quizzes so that the teachers could get to know you. Everyday after school that fall I had tennis practice because I had made the tennis team. Varsity football games were huge events that my friends and I all went to. Whether it was to actually watch the games or just to sit and flirt with the freshman football team. My best friend Kayla and I went to every single game and we were even managers of the freshman football team. Map testing. The one test that I hated the most or thought I hated the most. The Homecoming Parade was fun. I sat on the tennis float and threw beaded necklaces to all the little kids sitting on the sides and watching in awe. I will never forget the faces of my brother and sister when they saw me riding on the big float. The Homecoming Dance I didn't go to. even though it would have been a great experience Kayla and I decided to go rent movies and have a sleepover. We thought that all the dances would be unexciting. Not anything to get worked up about and go out and spend $500 on a dress that you would most likely only wear once. Explore testing was by far the worst test ever. Even though we did get out at 11:10. Choir concerts were big events at least for me. I sang soprano all year and made some really great friends in doing so. Share Joys, probably the best thing that could ever happen here at MHS. The one week where your diet is filled with pixie sticks, puppy chow, and anything else full of sugar. Improv was really funny and everyone made fun of something or someone in someway. Face painting was a joy I believe I had my face painted 3 or 4 times in those two days. The thing I loved the most about high school this year was all the friends I made and the memories we share. I will miss freshman year but I'm looking forward to next year.

What do some people follow one law more than another?
Throughout history laws have been enforced so that people don't get hurt. But why do some people follow one law more than another. There are some distinct reasons why people do but the main two are peer opinions, and personal mortality. People don't obey the laws that they don't believe in them. I'm not claiming that they behave lawlessly, they just do it because they think they can get away with it. Most governments stop enforcing laws that people don't believe in. Laws that people don't obey and that the government doesn't enforce get repealed even if they are good laws. Think of how the world would be if we didn't have laws everyone would behave differently. Some people would be glad that there weren't anymore laws so they didn't have to worry about getting caught anymore, so people would be glad and would now break the laws, and others would still follow the laws. Many people are threatened today by just doing the right thing and obeying the law. So do the right thing and obey.

What do humans do to cause global warming?
Scientists have determined that a number of human activities are contributing to global warming by adding excessive amounts of greenhouse gasses to the atmosphere. Greenhouse gasses such as carbon dioxide gather in the atmosphere and trap heat that would normally exit into outer space. While most greenhouse gasses occur naturally and are needed to keep the greenhouse effect that keeps the Earth warm enough to support human life. By driving cars, using electricity from coal fired power plants, or heating our homes with oil or natural gas we release carbon and other heat trapping gasses into the air. Deforestation is another source of greenhouse gasses, because fewer trees means less carbon to oxygen. During the 150 years of the industrial age carbon dioxide has increased by 31%. As the amount of greenhouse gasses grows more heat is trapped in the atmosphere and less escapes into space. The increase in trapped heat causes a change in the climate. So help me stop greenhouses from using unnecessary gasses.

Animal Abuse Site
I found this new website that i would like you to check out. There are many different reasons on why people abuse animals. Animal cruelty covers a wide range of actions so just one answer on why people abuse animals simply isn't possible. According to this website each type of abuse has displayed certain types of behavior that we can use to help understand more about why people commit these crimes today. Animal abuse is often broken down into two main sections passive and active. Passive cruelty often involves cases with neglect. Neglect can cause severe pain and suffering to the animal. Active cruelty is when a person purposely harms or hurts the animal. This type of abuse is taken very seriously. If you suspect that an animal has been abused there are some things that you can do to help or try to stop it. The most important thing you can do is report the cruelty to your local law enforcement. Do NOT attempt to deal with the crime yourself. There are people around that you can call that feel strongly about animal abuse just like I do, so call your local law enforcement to help out an animal in need.

How do you adopt or donate money to an animal shelter?
I found this great site that tells you how to adopt an animal or if your not ready to adopt an animal but still care then you can donate money to an animal shelter. Pet finder is a site that allows you to look at pictures of animals, where they are from, what they need and so much more. The animals on this site are all from either homes that couldn't afford them or were taken from abusive homes. You too can help save an animals life. Everyday several animals are taken to humane societies and sometimes there aren't enough room for the animals that have been there for awhile. So they have to put the animals down. If you donate money then you could help an animal shelter expand in size and receive more technology. Please help an animal shelter today!

great new website
I found this new website all about animal abuse and adopting animals. We need you on our side! You don't need to be a cop to fight animal cruelty. All you need is the courage to speak up for those who can't speak for themselves. Pets often seem to know how we feel. If we wish to create a humane society we must stop cruelty against those who are most vulnerable to animals. Animal cruelty is a world wide problem not just in my hometown. No matter where you live there is a lot you can do to stop animal cruelty. The most powerful tool that we need to prevent animal cruelty is education. We need to teach our children at an early age that animal abuse is wrong. Why do animal abusers do this? That is the question that pops into most of our heads. Research shows that the reasons why animals are abused are to demonstrate power and control over the family, to isolate the victim and children, to make an environment of fear, and to punish the victim for leaving. Recognizing animal cruelty is simple right? Not quite just because an animal is aggressive timid or frightened doesn't necessarily mean that the animal has been abused. Some physical signs of animal abuse are that the collar is so tight that its becoming inbeded in the animals neck, open wounds, untreated skin conditions, extreme thinness, matting of fur and weakness of the animals limbs or bones. These are some of the physical signs of animal abuse. I hope you enjoy my new post, and stop animal abuse!

Introduction to co-existance
As part of team 3 I am excited to be blogging this year about the topic of co-existence. The community I will be writing about this year is the animals at the animal shelters and the abuse some people do to their animals. In my town there are several animal shelters that take in stray or abused animals that are looking for a good home. If you are an animal lover then I hope you will check out the rest of my sites as I continue to post more and more blogs. What I am hoping to do is convince people that abusing their animals and leaving them stranded on the streets is wrong. Most people think that having a pet is a big responsibility and it is. My mom and I have been picking up stray animals for about three years now. We have picked up mostly dogs and cats. My sister and I take pride in naming them and finding them good homes. My family and I care a lot about animals we have two dogs and three cats the rest of the animals we have to find good homes for. Although my sister and I try to convince my mom to keep them we know that we will always find more animals and then the argument starts all over again. The smile on my face after we find them a good home is priceless. Although the tears are streaming down my face I know that I have done good and hopefully the world will do the same.
